Can I get a refund of COBRA premiums paid prior to the premium reduction law enactment? Can COBRA alternative premiums be refunded if I switch to COBRA?

There is no provision for premium refunds for coverage before February 17, 2009. However, COBRA premiums paid after that date may be eligible for retroactive premium reduction.

Ask the COBRA plan administrator about getting the premium reduction and how to reconcile any amounts you might have overpaid after February 17, 2009.

Refunds for COBRA alternative policies are available if the policy is cancelled within the "fee look" period as required by state law.
